MARCO CRISPO

”Highly gifted with a very natural, organic conducting technique, a deeply rooted knowledge of and love for music, an ardent personality and a tireless curiosity.”

ABOUT

Over the past several years Marco Crispo’s contagious enthusiasm and driving personality has brought him to the close attention of audiences and orchestras. In recent seasons, Marco has conducted Stravinsky’s Le Rossignol at Operaen i Midten, Tosca in Copenhagen with the Lyngby‑Taarbæk Symphony Orchestra, Hänsel und Gretel at the Landestheater Coburg, and Il Turco in Italia at both the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo and the Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini. The following year he will return to both the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier for a gala concert featuring the opera chorus and soprano Sheva Tehoval.

« Marco Crispo deserves to be known. His gestures are generous, clear and effective, and his expression is both smiling and serious. The dynamism he instils, his constant attention to each individual, his energy, vigour and tenderness are manifest. This is a fair, friendly Haydn, whose inner jubilation - sincere, human, without emphasis,
free of frivolity or self-indulgence - finds grandeur and humility: the true dimension of a sacredness stripped of its sacerdotal vestments, natural. There is nothing mystical or victorious about it, just the most sincere admiration for
the miracle of the great work that is The Creation »

« Leading the National Orchestra of Montpellier Occitaine, the conductor has breathed life into this musical creation of the universe. His touch, both gentle and powerful, nuanced and colourful, has all the strength needed to pull off this most visual of scores, while retaining all the lightness the music implies.
The orchestra wants to burst forth like the Universe at its inception, but the conductor manages to contain its power and conjure a world that is poetic and luminous »

« Crispo conducts the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie with impeccable mastery; his solemn, measured gestures lending dignity and intensity to the different sections of the oratorio. Attentive to the instrumentalists, soloists and chorus, he delivers a homogeneous performance worthy of the biblical story illustrated by Haydn »

« Osservavo con meraviglia..."»

« Osservavo con meraviglia il ragazzetto; procedeva a piccoli passi sgraziati. Sgraziati, certo, nella cura di non far rumore e nel tentativo di non dare dell'occhio. »

Da anni viaggio sempre con una cuccumella, nome dialettale della cosiddetta caffettiera napoletana, un’invenzione francese del ‘700 approdata poi a Napoli. Perché?

* La cuccumella: cos’è?
